RSNA taps Watson as executive director

The RSNA of Oak Brook, IL, has named Mark G. Watson as its executive director.

Watson had been serving as the society's interim executive director since September 2008, and he comes to the position with nearly 20 years of experience at RSNA, including serving as assistant executive director for finance and administration for the past 15 years.

Watson graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb with a bachelor's degree in business and accounting and began his career in 1986 at accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick. The RSNA hired him in 1990 as director of finance, and two years later he became director of finance and business affairs. He became assistant executive director of finance and administration in 1994.

During the next 15 years, Watson was responsible for all membership, financial, and accounting activities at the society. He has also been responsible for RSNA business and administration, including reviewing and negotiating all RSNA agreements and contracts with outside parties and developing and administering all personnel policies.
