Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas has introduced Rede PACS and Rede Mini PACS, two new image management offerings targeted at specialty practices such as orthopedic, family medicine, and urgent care clinics.

Powered by the company's Exa platform, Rede PACS provides access to full diagnostic toolsets and image viewing capabilities from any computer via web-based, zero-footprint software, Konica Minolta said. Rede PACS is suitable for centers with less than 20,000 imaging studies a year, and it is available on a tiered pricing structure based on annual study volume. It can also be deployed in a cloud-based implementation as a software-as-a-service package.

Designed for specialty care providers that perform less than 2,500 imaging studies each year, Rede Mini PACS is bundled with the company's x-ray and ultrasound systems and features a smaller hardware footprint, according to the vendor. It provides the same web-based accessibility and sharing of medical images as Rede PACS, the company said.

Both Rede PACS and Rede Mini PACS utilize server-side rendering, which yields speed and security benefits, according to Konica Minolta. It can also extend the performance of existing PCs, the firm said.
