IBM will shine the spotlight on its Grid Medical Archive Solution (GMAS) and its System Storage N series.

Other features include data integrity, network awareness, fault tolerance, and multilevel, rules-based information life cycle management (ILM), IBM said.

It also includes open systems interfaces and support for most disk or tape storage devices. GMAS is scalable from 2.4 TB through petabytes (PBs), and uses network file system (NFS) or common Internet file system (CIFS) interfaces, IBM said.

Another new entrant, System Storage N Series, is a unified disk storage system for network-attached storage (NAS), Internet protocol storage area network (IP SAN), and fibre-channel SAN (FC SAN). It fits into a standard 19-inch rack, and has a starting price of $25,000, IBM said.
