Global Care Solutions will present its Amalga PACS network. Amalga offers all standard diagnostic features, as well as 3D volume rendering, CAD, dictation/transcription, and speech recognition, according to the Baltimore-based vendor.

2005 11 10 16 23 30 706 The system includes orthopedic tools and templates, navigation tools for multislice CT exams, media export to CD, DVD, and hard disk, and an operating theater planning tool. Among its other features are single-click key image montaging, next-case navigation, and automatic hanging of prior studies.

Based on Microsoft's .Net platform, Amalga maintains all images online, and all of its components communicate using hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP). Amalga comes with a PACS administrator central monitoring console and uses EMC's Centera archive.

Amalga is scheduled for release in the U.S. and the rest of the world in January 2006.
