Canadian PACS developer Cedara Software has released I-Route, a teleradiology DICOM gateway designed to compress and distribute clinical studies to remote physicians using point-to-point connections.
The I-Route server receives studies from a variety of imaging modalities, and the application automatically applies appropriate compression before distributing the studies across a wide-area network, according to the Mississauga, Ontario-based vendor.
Once distributed, the studies can be read remotely in real-time using the firm's I-Softview workstation, Cedara said. Toshiba Medical Systems Europe is marketing I-Route and I-Softview in Europe under its ReportDirect workstation brand, according to the companies.By AuntMinnie.com staff writers
