AuntMinnie launches 2005 ECR coverage

Dear AuntMinnie Member,

The European Congress of Radiology begins this week in Vienna, Austria, a city infused with history, high culture, and tradition. And in a tradition of our own, AuntMinnie.com is pleased to kick off our ECR coverage with an interview with the congress president, who this year is Dr. Antonio Chiesa of the University of Brescia in Italy.

Dr. Chiesa discusses the high points of this year's congress, including a new categorical course on neuroradiology, as well as the conference's increasing focus on interactive courses and lectures. The ECR Meets program will feature radiologists from Hungary, Italy, and Japan, with representatives from each country presenting on hot topics from their homelands.

ECR will continue its innovative EPOS electronic poster program, in which scientific exhibits can be viewed online. In a new wrinkle, the ECR is allowing researchers to submit presentations to EPOS without having to travel to Vienna for the congress.

You can read the English version of our interview with Dr. Chiesa by clicking here. For the article in Italian, click here.

We're also featuring a story on Imagine, the ECR's new concept that provides a glimpse of the technologies that will shape the future of radiology. Located in a dedicated area of the Vienna International Centre, Imagine exhibitors will showcase technologies ranging from advanced visualization to PACS to computer-aided detection (CAD). Read all about it by clicking here.

Our editorial staff will also be on hand in Vienna filing daily reports, so make sure to check back for late-breaking coverage from radiology's premier pan-European meeting.
