IDX posts third consecutive quarter of record revenues

Burlington, VT-based IDX Systems reported record results today for the third quarter (end September 30). Revenues were $117.7 million compared to $89.5 million in the third quarter of 2001. Revenues for the nine-month period ended Sept. 30 increased to $338.3 million compared with revenues of $288.4 million for the same period a year earlier.

The health information technology developer reported third-quarter 2002 net income of $4.2 million, compared with a net loss of $8.6 million in the same period a year earlier.

Company CEO Richard Tarrant said that IDX remains comfortable with 2002 earnings guidance of 45 cents a share on revenues of $442 million to $462 million. In 2003, the company expects total revenue to grow approximately 15% and net income to grow approximately 50%.

In a separate announcement today, IDX said it has signed a contract with Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL for IDX Carecast, its automated patient record system.
