Healthcare information technology provider IDX Systems reported second quarter revenues of $112.7 million, up 8% compared with the $104.3 million posted in the same period last year. For the quarter (end-June 30), the Burlington, VT-based vendor had net income of $2.8 million, compared with net income of $1 million last year.
In new customer news, IDX said that ProHealth Care has signed on to use the firm's IDXrad radiology information management system and Carecast enterprise clinical system. The contract covers ProHealth Care's Waukesha Memorial Hospital and Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital, according to IDX.
Kaiser Permanente in Denver will also be using IDXrad. IDX will provide the system to 16 Colorado sites conducting 400,000 radiology exams a year.
Henry Ford Health System in Michigan has also signed on to use IDXrad. The health system will become one of the vendor's largest IDXrad clients, with a staff of 2,800 physicians handling 2.5 million annual patient exams and 650,000 exams per year, according to IDX.
