Philips signs Baptist Health South Florida

Philips Medical Systems has signed a seven-year agreement to provide Baptist Health South Florida with a radiology and cardiology PACS network.

The agreement, which will allow physicians to access patient records across all Baptist Health facilities, covers the Andover, MA-based vendor’s Diamond PACS network, which offers a single database for radiology and cardiology.

Baptist Health, which performs approximately 800,000 radiology and cardiology procedures a year, includes Baptist Hospital of Miami, Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, South Miami Hospital, Baptist Children's Hospital, Doctors Hospital, Homestead Hospital, Mariners Hospital, Baptist Children's Hospital, and Baptist Outpatient Services. The PACS network has begun implementation in a phased approach, and is expected to be completed across the enterprise in 2005, Philips said.
