SpeechQ for Radiology set to debut at RSNA.

Transcription firm MedQuist of Marlton, NJ, will be demonstrating SpeechQ for Radiology, a front-end speech recognition and workflow system for report generation and distribution. The product utilizes Philips Medical Systems’ SpeechMagic engine for recognition of voice files, according to the company.

SpeechQ is an on-premises client-server approach to manage radiology document production. It employs a customizable interface with Microsoft Word as its document editor, and is integrated with Philips’ EasyVision workstation as well as MedQuist’s DocQment Enterprise platform for overflow transcription/editing. In addition, SpeechQ can switch between front- and back-end recognition on the fly, MedQuist said.

The product, targeted toward imaging centers and radiology departments, will be available in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2004.
