Hologic to expand its outreach during Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hologic plans to expand its outreach during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October through a series of activities that will promote breast cancer screening.

The company will collaborate with Know Your Lemons, a nonprofit organization that focuses on boosting early detection of breast cancer around the world; the initiative will be part of a larger campaign called #KnowBreastCancer.

To kick off its outreach, on October 2 the company's president and CEO Steve MacMillan will ring the Nasdaq opening bell along with Hologic employees and tennis legend and two-time breast cancer survivor Martina Navratilova.

The company also plans to sponsor breast cancer walks across the U.S., such as Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Boston, MA, Wilmington, DE, and Fairfield, CN, as well as the Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk in San Diego, CA.
