Breast care facility opens in Abu Dhabi

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi has opened a facility dedicated to breast health as an effort to bolster oncology care for patients in the region.

The Breast Health Clinic offers diagnostic imaging, genetic counseling, and innovative therapies and treatments to women in the United Arab Emirates. It features multiple reconstruction specialists and disease-specific experts under one roof.

The breast clinic hopes its multidisciplinary approach to breast cancer care will promote early diagnosis and provide patients with state-of-the-art therapeutics and surgical treatments. It will also provide care to patients suspected of having breast cancer or with an increased breast cancer risk.

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is part of the Mubadala network of healthcare providers and offers a range of cancer services. The facility is preparing to open a dedicated oncology center modeled on the clinic's Taussig Cancer Center in Cleveland, OH.

A normal mammogram confirmed by three-year radiologic follow-up illustrates reader-marked regions of interest (ROIs) during (A) unaided (round 1) and (B) artificial intelligence (AI)–assisted (round 2) reading. Each colored dot represents an ROI for recall by a human reader. Readers could mark more than one ROI per case, represented by multiple dots of the same color.
