VuCOMP launches breast education programs

Computer-aided detection (CAD) developer VuCOMP will host a series of educational programs throughout the U.S. to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

VuCOMP is partnering with the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) to offer continuing education programs to existing customers and members of the medical community who wish to learn more about the latest advances in breast density and CAD.

VuCOMP said it also plans to host a webinar on breast density screening and legal liability in November.

A normal mammogram confirmed by three-year radiologic follow-up illustrates reader-marked regions of interest (ROIs) during (A) unaided (round 1) and (B) artificial intelligence (AI)–assisted (round 2) reading. Each colored dot represents an ROI for recall by a human reader. Readers could mark more than one ROI per case, represented by multiple dots of the same color.
