R2 debuts DigitalNow

Computer-aided detection (CAD) developer R2 Technology has introduced DigitalNow, software designed to help users prepare for the transition from film-based mammography to digital mammography.

DigitalNow is compatible with all DICOM workstations, and features electronic patient system integration capability, R2 said. It allows users to create an archive of ongoing cases, which are already being digitized for CAD analysis with the ImageChecker DM system. The software automatically identifies and orients mammography images in support of the hanging protocols of advanced mammography workstations, according to the Sunnyvale, CA-based vendor.

The company said that by archiving digitized images to a PACS or miniPACS network for future comparison, DigitalNow will reduce onsite film-storage dependence and file-room workload.
