ASTRO to brief House Cancer Caucus on radiation therapy access

Physician leaders from the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) will join the House Cancer Caucus on July 14 for a briefing on policies affecting patient access to radiation therapy.

The briefing will examine recent progress in radiation therapy treatments for a variety of cancers and policy challenges that affect whether patients can receive affordable, high-quality cancer care close to home, according to ASTRO. It will also cover reimbursement disruptions tied to 2026 Medicare billing code changes, rising practice costs, prior authorization delays, and bipartisan legislative options including the Radiation Oncology Case Rate (ROCR) Act, according to ASTRO.

The event will be held at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, DC.
