Mevion Medical Systems has won a contract to install its Mevion S250-FIT proton therapy system at a Florida radiation therapy center.
BayCare healthcare system will install the system in Fall 2025 at the Fred J. Woods Radiation Therapy Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa.
Mevion S250-FIT features Hyperscan pencil beam scanning for intensity-modulated proton therapy and can support technologies such as ARC therapy, adaptive planning, dual-energy CT, and FLASH therapy, according to Mevion.
The system is not yet available for clinical use, the company noted.
