
The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Foundation said it plans to offer more than $250,000 in scholarship opportunities for the 2021-2022 academic year, including more than $20,000 for three new scholarships aimed at improving diversity and inclusion in healthcare.
The new scholarships include the following:
- Elekta Radiation Therapy Scholarship for Black Students: Two Black radiation therapy students will receive $5,000 each to put toward their educational expenses.
- Hologic Inc. Mammography Scholarship: This professional-level scholarship will award $4,300 each to two radiographers pursuing educational opportunities that will prepare them to take the mammography certification exam.
- Northern California Society of Radiation Therapists Scholarship: One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to an individual who is or will be enrolled in a radiation therapy or dosimetry program, or a professional-level radiation therapist enrolled in a medical dosimetry program.
