The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg has ordered Germany's first Ethos radiation therapy system from Varian Medical Systems.
Ethos, an adaptive radiation therapy system with artificial intelligence (AI), is designed to increase the capability, flexibility, and efficiency of radiotherapy. It delivers an entire adaptive treatment in typically 15 minutes from patient setup through treatment delivery.
The Ethos system is scheduled to be installed and used to treat patients by early 2021.
