Landauer Medical Physics, a segment of radiation monitoring firm Landauer, has announced a partnership with Gamma Basics.
Gamma Basics makes grayCAD, a software tool designed for medical radiation shielding analysis. Through the partnership, Landauer Medical Physics plans to offer healthcare architects, hospitals, and freestanding radiation oncology clients customized shielding designs, according to the firm.
Using grayCAD, Landauer Medical Physics' physicists will be able to calculate expected radiation dose rates at millions of locations around a linear accelerator vault, and present the data in a visual radiation heat map, the company said.
