Varian Medical Systems has rolled out version 7.0 of its VariSeed treatment planning software. The new release allows radiation oncologists to utilize real-time images generated during the brachytherapy implant procedure to deliver precise doses, according to the Palo Alto, CA-based vendor.
Varian said that VariSeed 7.0 also adds the ability to superimpose different kinds of diagnostic images, enabling physicians to adjust implants according to patient disease characteristics.
