Trex revenues slump in Q2

The uncertain future of mammography and x-ray has weighed down Trex Medical financial results in the second quarter. For the period ending April 1, the Danbury, CT-based firm had revenues of $41.4 million, down 31.2% compared with the $60.2 million reported in the same quarter in 1999. Trex had a net loss of $6.6 million, compared with a net loss of $4.2 million in 1999. As announced in January, the company continues to look for a buyer. Irresolution among customers and dealers, in light of that announcement, has had a negative impact on the firm, according to William Webb, president and CEO.
