UCLA names Andriole first associate dean for health AI strategy

Katherine Andriole, PhD, has been named the inaugural associate dean for Health Artificial Intelligence Strategy and Innovation at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), as well as director of UCLA’s Center for AI and SMART Health. 

Andriole comes to the position from Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and Harvard Medical School, where she was an associate professor of radiology and director of academic research and education at Mass General Brigham AI. She has worked in radiological imaging informatics and biomedical data science for more than 30 years. 

In her new role, she will help shape AI strategy for UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine across research, education, and innovation, and will partner with the chief AI officer for UCLA Health.
