Dear Business & Industry Insider,

Earlier this year, we told you the story of how former executives at Fischer are working to revive the brand of that venerable Denver-based x-ray and mammography firm. This month, we're bringing you news of another long-time marque that's returning to radiology: RIS developer Sunquest Information Systems.

Sunquest had been a fixture in the imaging informatics market since 1979. That changed in 2001, when the company was acquired by U.K. software firm Misys Healthcare Systems, which retained the Sunquest brand for the RIS software but retired it as the name of the operating division.

Now Sunquest is back. Misys sold the division to a San Francisco-based venture capital firm, and the company is now a standalone entity and is reviving its flagship RIS product. It's also putting resources into other IS segments, such as pathology and laboratory systems. Learn more about the company's plans by clicking here.

In other news, one of the biggest radiology business stories of the month has been the decision of Bristol-Myers Squibb to sell off its imaging unit, which includes the popular Cardiolite radiopharmaceutical. Find out what's behind the decision by clicking here.
