MediView XR is highlighting the first intraprocedural use of its XR90 holographic surgical navigation system at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital in Weston, FL.
The company said this makes the hospital the first in the state to deploy the technology.

The procedure, a percutaneous liver mass biopsy, was performed by interventional radiologist Kevin Stadtlander, MD, who used the XR90 to target a liver lesion approximately 10 cm deep, located between two branches of the hepatic vein. The system fuses preoperative CT images with real-time ultrasound into a three-dimensional view projected into the operator's field of view through a see-through headset, allowing the physician to visualize the target and needle trajectory without looking away from the patient, MediView said.
The XR90 is designed to support a radiation-free procedure day by using a preoperative CT dataset fused with live ultrasound, potentially reducing ionizing radiation exposure for patients and clinical staff compared with procedures requiring repeated intraprocedural CT scans, according to the firm. The system also consolidates multiple imaging modalities into a single headset display, reducing the need for physicians to shift attention between external monitors during procedures, the company said.
