Coronary imaging technology developer Infraredx has formally introduced its Makoto intravascular imaging system and Dualpro intravascular ultrasound and near-infrared spectroscopy (IVUS+NIRS) catheter in Japan.
The commercial launch follows a limited market release in the spring for 10 hospitals in Japan, Infraredx said. Infraredx received approval from Japan's Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency in August 2017 for the dual-modality intravascular imaging system and catheter, which can identify vessel structure and plaque composition, according to the vendor.
