HP, Bycast sign Banner Health

HP and storage software partner Bycast are teaming up to provide a multifacility storage system for not-for-profit healthcare system Banner Health.

Banner will be using HP archive technology in support of its Arizona Regional PACS Archive. By 2009, the archive is expected to grow to more than 1.2 petabytes of data, supporting seven medical facilities throughout central Arizona.

The HP storage package includes the Palo Alto, CA-based vendor's ProLiant DL380 servers, StorageWorks Modular Smart Arrays, project management, implementation, deployment and integration services, and 24/7 operational support, HP said.

The system will be powered by Vancouver, British Columbia-based Bycast's StorageGrid software, which will integrate with multiple existing PACS networks, HP said. The implementation process began in December 2004.
