Canon adds to DR, printer portfolio

Canon U.S.A. has debuted three portable digital radiography (DR) systems at this week's American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) meeting in Las Vegas.

CXDI-55G is a multipurpose portable flat-panel digital detector, while CXDI-55C is a premium portable flat-panel detector, according to the Lake Success, NY-based vendor. The third system, CXDI-60C, is a compact portable flat-panel detector.

CXDI-55G and CXDI-55C feature a thickness of 0.6 inches, the same as a standard film cassette, Canon said. They offer an effective imaging area of 14 x 17 inches and can accommodate a range of locations, including the skull, spine, chest, abdomen, and extremities, according to the vendor. Both detectors weigh 7.5 lb.

CXDI-60C employs the vendor's LANMIT (large-area new-MIS sensor and TFT) technology and features thickness of 0.9 inches and weight of 5.5 lb. Suitable for pediatric and orthopedic applications, CXDI-60C has an effective imaging area of 9 x 11 inches.

In other Canon introductions, the firm will showcase its imagePress C1+ paper printing package, which can provide prints at resolution of up to 1,200 x 1,200 dots per inch with 256 shades of gray.
