Delphinus raises venture capital

Tomographic ultrasound developer Delphinus Medical Technologies of Detroit has received $8 million in venture capital.

The spin-off company of the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute will use the funds to start the commercialization process for its SoftVue tomographic breast ultrasound imaging and risk assessment device, according to the Detroit institute.

The lead investor is Arboretum Ventures of Ann Arbor, MI. Beringea co-led the deal through its InvestMichigan! Growth Capital Fund and was joined by North Coast Technology Investors.
