Acuson brings AcuNav to Cypress

Ultrasound vendor Acuson has released the AcuNav diagnostic ultrasound catheter for use on its Cypress echocardiography system. With the addition of AcuNav, the low-cost Cypress is now equipped for intracardiac echocardiography applications, as well as adult, pediatric, stress-echo, and contrast imaging, according to Acuson of Mountain View, CA.

AcuNav is mounted on a catheter that is inserted through the femoral vein of the leg or the jugular vein in the neck, then is maneuvered into the right atrium or right ventricle of the heart, Acuson said.
