DR Systems to show platform upgrades at HIMSS

PACS software developer DR Systems of San Diego plans to unveil platform upgrades at the upcoming Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) meeting in Chicago.

The company will highlight its Unity RIS/PACS in a virtualized server environment, as well as the package's DICOM connectivity and cross-platform capability.

It will also unveil its new ZDA (Zero-Download Ambassador) Web-based clinical review application, which features its Web Ambassador software. Web Ambassador allows doctors or other referring physicians to view exams and reports remotely; ZDA makes it possible for them to access reports and exams on their own computers without having to download any software. DR Systems will demonstrate ZDA with Apple and Linux operating systems at the meeting.

The company also plans to show upgrades to its Release 8.2 software for its Unity platform, which include DICOM structured reports, a CS series workstation, access via enterprise-based and physician office electronic medical records, multiple-volume support, and improved sentinel capabilities, DR Systems said.
