AccelaRad to expand cloud computing program

PACS technology provider AccelaRad of Atlanta plans to highlight enhancements to its SeeMyRadiology.com cloud computing image storage platform at the upcoming RSNA meeting in Chicago.

SeeMyRadiology.com stores images using a cloud computing architecture, in which services are provided over the Internet using a software-as-a-service (SaaS) concept. In SeeMyRadiology.com's case, the program stores all client images on a centralized cluster of servers. Authorized users upload and access appropriate files, independent of location and native imaging application, to manage and share data virtually.

At RSNA 2009, AccelaRad is expanding the program to include clinicians across and outside a healthcare enterprise. Physicians can now get full electronic access to patient imaging exams. Patients can also access their own imaging studies through a Web portal and no longer have to gather images from multiple healthcare providers, AccelaRad said.
