Merge sales dip in 2008 Q2

Merge Healthcare of Milwaukee posted slightly lower net sales for the second quarter (end-June 30) compared to the same period the previous year, the company reported.

For the second quarter, net sales totaled $13.3 million, a 5% decrease compared to $14 million for the same period in 2007. Net loss was $18.2 million, an increase of 41% compared to a net loss of $10.7 million in the second quarter of 2007.

For the six months ended June 30, net sales totaled $27.1 million, a 9% decrease compared to $29.9 million for the same period in 2007. Net loss for the six months in 2008 totaled $26 million, a 21% increase compared to $20.5 million for the same period in 2007, Merge said.
