NEC gets OK for 5-MP display

NEC Display Solutions of America of Itasca, IL, has received U.S. regulatory clearance to market a 5-megapixel display for medical applications.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has cleared the company's MultiSync MD205MG flat-panel monitor, a grayscale display that is the core of a new package of products for medical use, called MD205-DRV.

MD205-DRV includes two MD205MG displays and a high-performance video card for medical applications from RealVision of Santa Clara, CA, as well as NEC's GammaCompMD quality assurance software. NEC is highlighting the monitor and package at this week's Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) meeting in Orlando, FL.
