Healthcare image and information management firm Amicas of Boston has acquired exclusive licensing and worldwide distribution rights to RadStream, a software product designed by Radiology Informatics Research Core at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati College of Business. Amicas will make an up-front payment for patent costs to Cincinnati Children's, as well as royalties for each sublicense.
Cincinnati Children's developed RadStream to improve its existing filmless radiology system. RadStream streamlines radiology workflow, improves soft-copy reading productivity, and documents communication of positive results of radiology studies. The software has improved radiology report turnaround time by 40%, according to the hospital.
Amicas plans to offer RadStream in the second half of this year, initially as a standalone addition for facilities that use Amicas PACS. Thereafter, the company will incorporate RadStream into its Vision Series PACS.
