Amicas gets South Shore upgrade

PACS vendor Amicas has installed the latest iteration of its PACS application, Vision Series PACS 4.1, at South Shore Hospital, in Weymouth, MA.

The facility, which performs more than 180,000 radiology studies annually, upgraded to the 4.1 version from a prior Vision Series PACS iteration, according to the Boston-based vendor.

The enhancements to the 4.1 release include enterprise-wide Web-based workstation tools including pediatric features, new features for CT and MR studies, and expanded support for maximum intensity projection (MIP)/multiplanar reformatting (MPR) and 3D imaging, the company said.
