Amicas, Heartlab sign cardiac PACS deal

Radiology image and information systems company Amicas of Ridgefield, CT, has signed a co-marketing agreement with cardiac PACS firm Heartlab of Westerly, RI, to provide PACS software that integrates access to both cardiology and radiology diagnostic images and reports.

The integration between the Amicas Vision Series PACS and Heartlab Encompass cardiology PACS is achieved via Amicas' RealTime Worklist feature. Using the Worklist application, a user may launch either of the firms' PACS viewers to gain access to the full suite of image manipulation tools appropriate to the specific study type, according to the companies.

In other news, Amicas reported that it has recently signed a number of institutions as Vision Series PACS customers in conjunction with a joint marketing agreement with healthcare informatics firm Meditech of Westwood, MA.

Amicas said that Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva, IL; Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, NH; Person Memorial Hospital in Roxboro, NC; Portage Health System in Hancock, MI; Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield, NC; Quincy Medical Center in Quincy, MA; and Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals in Columbia, SC, have joined as customers.
