Stereotaxis gets clearance for Niobe

Image-guided surgery firm Stereotaxis of St. Louis has received Food and Drug Administration clearance for its Niobe magnetic navigation system. Employing computer-controlled magnets, Niobe navigates medical devices, such as catheters and guidewires, through the cardiovascular system to designated sites in the heart and coronary vasculature, according to Stereotaxis partner Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA.
