MITA, DoD plan device security conference

Healthcare industry trade group Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance (MITA) will participate in a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD)-sponsored conference on medical device security April 14-15 in Arlington, VA.

The conference aims to identify future federal medical device security needs, orient participants on emerging global standards, and discuss the range of commercial challenges facing medical device manufacturers, according to MITA, also in Arlington.

The conference will also focus on supporting federal agencies and industry to proactively anticipate emerging issues in ensuring the privacy, integrity, and availability of medical information and systems within federal networks, MITA said.
