IBM debuts grid archiving service for healthcare IT

Somers, NY-based IBM today unveiled its new Grid Medical Archive Solution (GMAS) for storage, software, servers, and services located at hospitals, clinics, research institutions, and pharmaceutical companies.

IBM GMAS is designed as a multitier, multiapplication, and multisite enterprise storage archive for delivering medical images, patient records, and other healthcare reference information on demand.

IBM GMAS was introduced at the annual meeting of the American Telemedicine Association and will be available on June 1.
