Philips adds DVD-RAM to EnConcert

Philips Medical Systems has added a DVD-RAM data storage option to its EnConcert echocardiography information management system. New archiving capability provided by storage firm Plasmon reduces the per-MB cost of storing data by more than 50%, compared to the cost of magneto-optical devices (MOD), according to Bothell, WA-based Philips. Three models are available: Plasmon D120, with 75-GB capacity; Plasmon D240, with 1.88-TB capacity; and the Plasmon D480, with 4.13-TB capacity.
