GE inks deal with BrainLab

GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., has signed a joint development and marketing agreement with BrainLab of Munich, Germany, to integrate BrainLab's BrainSuite surgical package with GE's MR surgical suite, GE said.

The two firms will also comarket the integrated package. GE's MR-guided surgical suite helps users distinguish between healthy and abnormal tissue during surgery; BrainLab's BrainSuite digitally integrates intraoperative imaging, surgical navigation, planning, and digital data management, which allows surgeons to identify critical areas and remove abnormal tissue, according to GE.
