Planar launches new display with ATI board

AUSTIN, TX - Diagnostic medical display developer Planar Systems of Beaverton, OR, has selected ATI Technologies to provide advanced graphics processing technology for its medical imaging products.

Planar has incorporated ATI's FireGL V3400 graphics board into a new display, called Dome AX4, designed to support the incorporation of 3D image viewing techniques in PACS environments. The ATI board accelerates the speed at which users can load, review, and report medical imaging studies, according to the companies.

Planar is also incorporating FireGL V3400 into its Dome EX series of monitors, including the E2, E2c, E3, E3c and E4c displays, as well as the P1 and P2 bundles.
