The vendor's Unity RIS/PACS platform takes center stage at this year's RSNA show.

Unity RIS/PACS covers the entire imaging exam workflow process, according to the San Diego-based firm. Features include new data conversion tools for replacing legacy RIS/PACS networks, enhanced Web-based scheduling capabilities, and new patent-pending image display methods, DR Systems said.

Unity also features integrated mammography reading, tracking, film digitizing, and archiving, according to the company. DR said it has included multidatabase and multiserver capabilities in Unity, as well as enhanced PACS access from electronic medical record systems (EMRs) and HIS Web portals.

In addition, Unity has been designed to provide an imaging and information management system infrastructure for regional health information organizations (RHIOs), according to the vendor. Via a dealer agreement with InSiteOne of Wallingford, CT, DR Systems also offers onsite and offsite DICOM storage for disaster recovery as an archive option.

Other Unity capabilities include image acquisition, technologist quality control, online storage, and document scanning, printing, and faxing, according to the firm. DR Systems has also included Web-based report distribution, cardiology and pathology support, and 3D image processing and remote monitoring tools.
