Merge eMed

Merge will show its Fusion RIS/PACS MX and Fusion Matrix PACS.

Fusion RIS/PACS MX combines the vendor's Fusion RIS and Fusion Matrix PACS (formerly known as eMed Matrix). It provides RIS, PACS, dictation, document management, Web-enabled distribution of clinical and business information, billing, and practice analysis workflow, according to the Milwaukee-based company.

Based on Microsoft's .Net platform, Matrix PACS uses smart-client architecture and makes relevant clinical information available to the radiologist. It offers improved display logic, image prioritizing, and the patient master jacket.

Merge has also added peer communication features, including instant messaging, study notes, study links, and voiceover IP capability. Matrix users can flag key images and take advantage of integrated voice dictation and document management.

The vendor's Learn Wizard adaptive software learns the user's viewing protocol preferences and optimizes the display, taking into consideration the client's monitor setup. Other user interface features are autoread, under review, study lock, interrupt session, and work list filter history.

Matrix also features online archiving and can support a distributed archiving architecture, thanks to redundant, synchronized databases that act as one system. It can manage nonunique patient IDs from multiple sites and provide secure access to data from each site, according to Merge.
