Agfa HealthCare

Agfa will emphasize its Impax Enterprise integrated workflow concept at this year's RSNA meeting. Impax Enterprise encompasses the building blocks for an electronic health record and includes Agfa's Impax 6.0 PACS network, Impax RIS, Solution Monitoring & Management Services (SMMS), Impax Reporting, and Impax Auditing and Integration Services.

With Impax Enterprise, users can access scheduling of radiology, cardiology, mammography, and other clinical exams via the Internet, according to the Mortsel, Belgium-based vendor. Customers can also use a Web browser to view reports, images, and the entire electronic medical record on a PC, PDA, or cell phone. The package features a single sign-on capability, integrated work list, and a single user interface, with the ability to read and dictate reports over a LAN or WAN through access to a traditional RIS.

Impax 6.0, first shown at the 2004 RSNA meeting, will be released this year. Agfa is also featuring the SMMS integrated service, which continually manages and monitors its applications, hardware, operating systems, and databases throughout the enterprise. SMMS identifies trends that suggest future conflicts, notifies stakeholders of the situation, and provides a map to track down and resolve the problem.

In addition, Agfa will highlight its integrated workflow package for single- or multisite imaging centers and clinics. New developments for the Impax RIS/PACS configuration include enhancements to embedded billing workflow and an integrated mammography tracking module.
