(Booth 3819) NAI will formally add two new additions to its MDR line of medical image recorders at McCormick Place.
MDR Video RP records high-resolution streaming video to CD or DVD media in a DICOM format, including automatic full-color label printing with patient demographic data, according to the Auburn, CA-based vendor. MDR Video RP is the same size as a conventional videotape recorder and can be installed in fluoroscopy rooms or on ultrasound, mobile C-arm, or endoscopic carts, NAI said.
Another new release, MDR Express RP, provides the same disk burning and labeling capability as MDR Video RP but without video-capture functionality. It's suited for modalities that provide DICOM output, including computed radiography, digital radiography, digital mammography, CT, and MRI, according to NAI.
NAI has also integrated technology on both RP systems that allows for disk burning and label printing within the same drive. Another new RP feature, Electronic Scribing Process, reads patient demographics from unlabeled disks and automatically labels them with the correct patient information.
If the original disk is not ink-jet printable, the RP system will transfer the data to its internal hard drive and burn a new disk with a printed label on suitable media, according to NAI. Its disk-import functionality also allows data from most DICOM disks to be sent from the MDR to PACS, the company said
Deliveries of both systems are expected to begin in December.
