ACR lauds AMA's support of MPPR repeal

The American College of Radiology (ACR) is lauding the American Medical Association (AMA) for passing a resolution that supports ACR's ongoing legislative efforts to repeal cuts to the professional component of interpretations of multiple body parts on the same patient on the same day.

During its annual House of Delegates meeting in Chicago, the AMA passed Resolution 214, which backs the ACR's attempt to repeal a U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid rule that applies a 25% multiple procedure payment reduction (MPPR) to interpretations of contingent body parts.

The resolution will add to ACR's MPPR advocacy effort in Congress, where two pieces of legislation, HR 3269 and S 2347, are enjoying bipartisan support among lawmakers, ACR said.
