Applicare unveils RadWorks 5.1

PACS software developer Applicare Medical Imaging has released version 5.1 of its RadWorks software. RadWorks 5.1 includes a new Workgroup Server to simplify departmental image distribution and workflow, as well as added functionality with the Dutch vendor’s add-on Integration Module.

Using the Integration Module, users can interface to a HIS/RIS system and Windows or Web applications just by clicking a button, according to the firm. Support for DICOM modality performed procedure step (MPPS) has also been added to the firm’s Quality Control module, allowing RadWorks to report image acquisition to a HIS/RIS if the modality does not support MPPS. In other additions, RadWorks now supports DICOM digital x-ray, mammography, and intra-oral studies.

RadWorks is sold around the world by 20 channel partners, including parent GE Medical Systems, Marconi, Kodak and IBM. Over 7,000 RadWorks systems have been sold and are in use in over 750 hospitals across the globe, according to the company.
