ScheduleQuest files patent suit against Merge eFilm

Scheduling software developer ScheduleQuest has filed suit against Merge eFilm of Milwaukee and its RIS subsidiary, RIS Logic of Solon, OH, alleging that the firms infringed on ScheduleQuest’s U.S. Patent 6,389,454, Multi Facility Appointment Scheduling System.

The complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, according to Kissimmee, FL-based ScheduleQuest. Merge eFilm CFO Scott Veech said that the company's patent attorneys and product development specialists have reviewed the case, and the company considers it to be meritless. The firm is confident its rights will be affirmed in a court of law, Veech said.
