Systematic, hands-on workshops and state-of-the-art educational training tools are in demand but are limited in clinical settings. Training sessions are designed to expand individual knowledge of MSK US, demonstrating how to generate protocol images and articulate findings with the use of high-frequency ultrasound systems. Objectives include the following: understand MSK US artifact and basic principles of ultrasound physics; understand basic terminology used to describe MSK US tissue characteristics; understand basic hands-on scanning technique; understand and list MSK US protocol imaging and knowledge of technique; correctly identify normal MSK anatomy, tendons, muscles, ligaments, and nerves; describe and identify MSK US images of anatomy and artifact; and describe basic sonographic pathology.
